About us

The Blue Train captures the youthful fantasies of both young and old

 

The Blue Train Park has been in operation for more than 60 years. The property is approx 10,000m2, less than 25m from the Atlantic Ocean with a backdrop of Lions head, Signal Hill and Table Mountain. Now an iconic feature to Cape Town’s beautiful seaside landscape, this park with its miniature blue train captures the youthful fantasies of both young and old.

Operating Days
Open every Wednesday – Sunday.
Open during public school holidays, long weekends, and public holidays.
Operating days is at the sole discretion of management.

Closed
Mondays & Tuesdays.
On extremely windy and wet weather days.

Weekends
Open every Saturday and Sunday.

Ticket Prices

Operating Times
Between 10:00 – 18:00
Last train ride departing at 17:30

Train Ride Fees

R50 per person per train ride; or

R85 per person: access to the park & one train ride; or

R100 per person: access to the park & two train rides; or

R450 for a family pack of ten rides (non-refundable)

Tickets and Train rides are non-tranferable.
Only card payments are accepted as we are a cash free facility.

Pet Friendly
The train rides are pet friendly.
Please keep your dog on a lead at all times.

Open to the Public – Walk-In Picnics Welcome!

The Blue Train Park is open to the public, and we’re excited to welcome walk-in family picnics. Pack your picnic basket (please note: no alcohol or braais permitted) and come spend a relaxed day with us.

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis for tables, or you can pre-book a shaded gazebo for a small additional fee.

Please note that walk-in birthday parties are not permitted. All parties must be pre-booked in advance.

Enjoy the fresh ocean air along the Atlantic Seaboard, with beautiful views of the ocean and the iconic Lion’s Head as your backdrop.

What To Expect: Designated Party Area, Picnic Tables, Train Rides, Mini Pump-Track, Mini Zipline, Swings, Soccer Field, Basketball, See Saw, Jungle Gym, Log Wing and lots of space to run around.

What to bring: Your own bicycles, soccer / basket balls, and lawn games.

Please feel free to pack a picnic basket. No alcohol nor any braais / skottels will be allowed on site
